About

Meet Vera Kate.

I’m a teenager who dreams of owning my own bakery one day — and this porch bakery is where that dream starts.

The story

A bakery that fits on a porch — for now.

Every week, Vera Kate plans a small menu, bakes everything by order, and boxes it up for porch pickup in Newport News, Virginia. Nothing sits around — your treats are baked for you, not before you.

The menu changes with the seasons and with what customers ask for. Pies are the house specialty — including Mema’s Razzleberry, named for family — alongside build-your-own boxes of brownies, blondies, hand pies, scones, muffins, and cookies.

Every order, tip, and donation goes toward the big goal: attending the prestigious École Ducasse pastry school in Paris and, one day, opening a bakery with her own name over the door.
